Claire Johnson has worked as an information professional for over 30 years and since 2008 she has been an independent trainer and consultant specialising in information management with particular emphasis on data protection compliance, document and records management, digital preservation, and information governance.

Claire has developed and delivered many training courses on information and records management in the UK and Europe. She has undertaken consultancy projects for clients in many sectors including central government, banking, energy, social care, and biotechnology. Claire has worked in both the public and private sectors and was an Information Compliance Special with the University of Glasgow before specialising in data protection and gaining an LL.M. in internet and telecommunications law.

She is a past Regional Chair of IRMS Scotland. In 2013 she was appointed IRMS Records Manager of the Year and was awarded Fellowship of the Society.
