AI & Data Ethics
Course Overview:
The advent and rise of the use of AI and the lack of primary legislation in the UK governing its deployment has left many scratching their heads when asked by their organisations how it and other novel processing activities should be rolled out in a compliant way.
While technology and its possibilities continue to race ahead promising competitive advantage, faster, cheaper and better decision-making, organisations are increasingly re-using and adapting elements of their existing compliance programmes to undertake ethical impact assessments to identify, assess and mitigate legal, social, reputational and environmental risks. This course looks at how various existing organisational compliance programmes can be leveraged and used as a springboard into a consideration of data ethics including:
- understanding what it means conceptually for organisations to adopt an ethical approach to data processing
- formulating and articulating to the organisation the pros and cons of a shift to assessing data processing through an ethical prism
- uncovering the foundational elements commonly seen in organisations which hold themselves out to be ethically accountable
- considering the elements of existing compliance programmes which can be usefully re-purposed and re-used
The course provides delegates with ideas, templates and pro-forma, which delegates can take away and use to implement an extension to their existing data risk management frameworks to encompass relevant ethical thinking. |
