Conducting Internal Investigations

Training course carries 5 hours CPD points

Courses take place in:

London, Manchester & Dublin

You have just discovered that a rogue employee may have misappropriated clients’ funds, or stolen customer data, or paid bribes to win contracts.

What do you do?

It is important that someone within the organisation is trained to conduct internal investigations. The same skills can be utilised to deal with investigations of the organisation by regulatory or law enforcement agencies.

This practical training course equips those who may be closely involved in an internal investigation with the skill set needed to navigate the investigation successfully and strategically. It gives delegates the knowledge needed to lead or contribute to an internal investigation and maximise the likelihood of a positive outcome (both internally and externally) for the organisation. Topics include:

  • Determining whether an internal investigation needs to be conducted and who should undertake it
  • Establishing the parameters of the investigation
  • Preparing the investigation plan
  • Deciding on the resources and third party assistance needed to undertake the investigation
  • Understanding the process for dealing with whistleblowers
  • Obtaining and handling information that is relevant to the investigation
  • Conducting employee interviews (the do’s and don’ts)
  • Drafting an investigation report
